WRX STi wing or no wing

WRX STi ini standardnya no wing. Selama ini dilemma, stay no wing atau pakai wing.

Pertimbangannya kalau no wing bentuknya sih suka dan sleeper, kelihatan kaya sedan biasa. Kalau baca di Internet sih katanya kalau tidak dipakai di track malah rugi pakai wing.

Kalau pakai wing OEM dari angle samping ga suka, kalau dari belakang sih suka. Kalau dilihat dari samping menurut saya angle wingnya ga matching sama angle bagasinya.

wing lebih enak..kalo buat kenceng ya, ada additional downforce dari spoilernya, pantatnya lebih anteng

kalo saya yg awam liatnya tanpa wing: lebih elegan, pake wing: mobil balap banget.

Wrx family itu kaya evo series.
Ibarat mie goreng, tanpa pakai telor aja udah luar biasa.
Apalagi kalau di tambah telor rebus setengah mateng.. istimewaaaa :D

Scara teori kalo di Indo klo ngebut paling lurus doang... Jdi pertanyaan nya... Apakah butuh downforce???

Meski pake wing keren.... Tapi ini mobil Man magnet banget.... Sekeren apapun yng tertarik kebanyakan cowo pasti... Pernah numpang pny tmn lewat lobby mall cowo smua yng ngelirik

Secara estetika - ga pake wing lebih clean look dan simpel... Pake wing lebih gahar. Perkara selera aja.

Secara teknikal - Wing tujuannya buat nambah downforce dengan cost adanya restriction / turbulensi pada aliran udara di bagian belakang mobil sehingga drag / hambatan udara bertambah. Pantat lebih anteng iya, tapi 99% tidak akan terasa di pemakaian normal... untuk mobil selevel Subaru Impreza STi di atas 160 baru terasa efeknya (krn dari sononya jg udah stabil + AWD)... yah ngebut seberapa sih paling... gak setiap hari bisa ngebut 180 km/h lebih di jalan tol. Morning run juga nggak jalan di atas 200...

Ngetrack juga nggak tiap hari. Saya setuju dengan perkataan kalo gak ngetrack malah rugi pake wing... krn menghambat performa...

So I vote for no wing in terms of functionality... wing in terms of style...

Opsi lain - ducktail, secara fungsi lebih berguna krn ngurangin hambatan angin...

Tadi malem ketemu WRX STi sedan warna biru pake wing + quad pipe di tol bawen,sy ngekor karna suka suara knalpotnya, trus kalo oper gigi Bov nya kenceng banget...
Sti tanpa wing bagaikan chuck norris pake jas,sama2 gregetnya...

Kesan clean nya dapet juga kl ducktail.

Aerokit untuk jalan di indonesia sie cuma pemanis ya kebanyakan. Apalagi untuk mobil AWD kya STi yg udah low center of gravity.

Kl untuk mobil FWD baru berasa bokong butuh downforce di hi speed

well..ini dari pengalaman bbrp temen pemakai STi sih..ada yang gak pasang spoiler, tapi walaupun lurusan dan lagi kenceng, pas mobilnya dibelokin (pindah jalur atau a bit of slalom) pantatnya kerasa rada ngebuang (yes, walaupun AWD dan low center of gravity juga bisa ngebuang pantatnya, been there few times)

makanya bbrp temen akhirnya minta pasang spoiler, emang jarang dipake ngetrack dan ngebut juga...but it nice to have kalo emang lagi butuh walaupun konsekuensinya ada drag tambahan..dan bikin pantat agak lebih anteng..

kalo gak mau yang high wing, pakai option model low wing saja om seperti yang ini

Temen saya pernah bilang katanya kalau FWD percuma pakai Wing, soalnya roda belakang kan cuma ngikut aja, kalau dipikir bener juga sih, paling worse case kalau lost traction Jadi oversteer.

@haris temennya sejak pakai Wing udah ga ngebuang belakangnya?

somehow sti lebih cocok kalo gak pake wing. Kalo menurut gue malah evo yang aneh kalo gak pake wing. Tapi ya kembali lagi sih masalah selera dan peruntukan pake wing nya buat apa. Apalagi wing segede gitu tuh malah ngalangin pandangan spion ke belakang.

FWD justru sangat butuh wing klw mobil track... krn bagian belakang betul-betul g ada traksi. mbl FWD rata-rata front heavy... walau cm ngikut, tetep kan yg napak tanah empat roda bkn dua roda. Makanya biasa track car FWD camber depannya negatif bwat maksimalin traksi dan pake wing bwat nambah traksi di blakang. Klw depan traksi terlalu besar tp ban belakang g bisa ngimbangin malah bahaya bokong ngebuang... Terkadang ngakalin pake setup suspensi jg belakang dibuat agak keras. Intinya semua for the sake of weight distribution and balance...

RWD/AWD cenderung lebih balanced. Tp penambahan wing jg dirasa perlu krn di RWD meminimalisir oversteer, dan AWD... ya simply buat nambah nambah traksi aja.

Yg difoto itu spoiler / ducktail... fungsinya bkn nambah downforce, tp reduce drag (and downforce, a bit)... wing ntu tiang jemuran.

Ada sedikit misunderstanding antara istilah spoiler dan wing... ini gw juga baru tau waktu dapet kuliah automobile aerodynamics di semester 6 waktu kuliah...

Spoiler dan wing fungsinya berbeda... wing dibuat kadang kya tiang jemuran supaya increase downforce in the cost of drag, producing negative lift (lo kan tau pesawat hrsnya paham apa itu positive dan negative lift)... sedangkan spoiler fungsinya reducing drag dan negative lift walaupun sedikit / ga signifikan kya tiang jemuran downforce nya (makanya di mobil2 formula wing nya adjustable jadi klw lurusan dia reducing drag, klw belok producing negative lift/downforce)...

Blom pernah overspeed pake STi... cm paling engga STi masih lebih controllable pasti dibanding Civic FB... mungkin klw overspeed nya di atas 200 ya gtw lagi... patokan gw overspeed itu lari sekitar 150 - 160 km/h... klw berharap mengeliminasi sepenuhnya ngebuang ya wajib minimal spoiler/ducktail atw tiang jemuran sekalian...

Saya pakai UK manual. Tapi selama ini di jalan tol ga ada masalah sih, mungkin karena suspension udah ganti juga. Dulu pernah ada satu kejadian di Sentul Hard braking ga stabil belakangnya kaya ke kiri ke kanan, tapi Feeling gw karena ban atau track ga rata. Ban nya lama sih udah 4 tahun.

Baru tau sti bisa ngebuang belakangnya.... Tapi mobil awd kan biasanya berat depan dikit, jadi kyk fwd kalo belok tiba tiba belakangnya kayak keseret gt... Temen juga pernah bilang sih... Dia masang spoiler bkn krn suka, tp biar lbh stabil kalo ngebut....
