Eh rupanya ada beritanya di internet ttg Edition9 :
Untuk pertama kalinya di dalam sejarah panjang Mercedes-Benz E-Class fitur Airmatic Suspension diaplikasikan, dan ini hanya akan ada di kendaraan Mercedes-Benz terbaru – Edition 9 – yang hadir dengan unit sangat terbatas.

Telah lebih dari 6 tahun Mercedes-Benz E-Class dengan type W211 hadir di Indonesia. Kehadirannya meramaikan pasar kendaraan premium di Indonesia dan berhasil dengan terus menerus menjadi pemimpin pasar kendaraan premium di segmennya secara stabil, hal ini dapat dilihat dari perolehan pangsa pasar yang tidak pernah kurang dari 65% dan per Februari 2009 meningkat menjadi 74%.

Setelah beberapa kali mengalami penyempurnaan baik dalam fitur maupun tampilan, kali ini Mercedes-Benz E-Class menghadirkan Edition9 yang tampil dengan berbagai tambahan fitur dan penampilan yang lebih menarik.

E-Class Edition9 hadir dengan Airmatic Dual Control – Semiactive Air Suspension yang memungkinkan pengendaraan menjadi lebih nyaman dan dinamis, dimana kendaraan dapat secara otomatis menyesuaikan diri terhadap kondisi jalan dan tingkat kecepatan. Kendaraan akan secara otomatis menurunkan tinggi suspensi sebesar 15mm ketika kecepatan kendaraan berada pada 140 km/jam atau lebih dan akan kembali ke posisi standar jika kecepatan berada dibawah 70 km/jam.

Pengaturan juga dapat dilakukan secara manual, jika pengemudi menghendaki ketinggian kendaraan sampai 25 mm pada kondisi jalan yg buruk. Apabila kecepatan kendaraan mencapai 80 km/jam secara konstan atau melebihi 120 km / jam, maka ketinggian kendaraan akan kembali ke posisi standard/normal. Selain itu untuk pengendalian lebih dinamis dan kondisi ini diperlukan pada saat melewati tikungan-tikungan dengan kecepatan yang tinggi , pengemudi dapat memilih 2 tingkat kestabilan yang dapat dilpilih secara manual dengan menekan tombol yang terletak di dekat tuas transmisi.

Mercedes-Benz E280 akan hadir dengan velg 18” (Depan 8.5J x 18 ET 39, 245/40R18, Belakang 9Jx18ET38, 265/35R18), front brake yang lebih lebar dengan balutan cat calipers, exhaust pipe yang terlihat dan suara mesin yang lebih sporti membuat kendaraan ini hadir dengan sensasi yang lebih sporti. Kesan elegan yang dimiliki oleh kendaraan E-Class ini tetap diperkuat dengan tambahan illuminated door sills yang menarik dan garis chrome pada garis jendela samping.

Edition9 (E280 & E230) dilengkapi dengan sebuah iPod Touch 16 GB (termasuk kabel interface) untuk memberikan kenikmatan selama berkendara, dimana pengaturan perangkat iPod tersebut dapat dilakukan melalui head unit Audio 20 New Telematics Generation 2.5 yang juga mempunyai kemampuan bluetooth interface dengan ponsel.

Khusus untuk E280 tersedia sound system terbaik dari Mercedes-Benz yaitu Harman/Kardon LOGIC 7.

Tidak hanya itu, untuk setiap pembelian E230 dan/atau E280 Edition9, Mercedes-Benz memberikan fasilitas tambahan berupa Free Car Polish selama 18 bulan di Crystal Box, voucher bensin Shell dan 3M Auto Film yang langsung didapatkan ketika membeli E-Class Edition9.

Kendaraan ini hadir di Indonesia dalam jumlah terbatas dan diperuntukkan kepada konsumen pecinta Mercedes-Benz yang mengkoleksi edisi khusus dari Mercedes-Benz, dimana setiap pembelian Edition9 akan disertakan Certificate of Authenticity yang mencatumkan nomer urut edisi terbatas ini.

Mungkin yg dimaksud sang mekanik yg generasi FL (termasuk didalamnya E200K, E280 7G-TRONIC, dan edition9), karna W211 FL mengandung banyak perbaikan dibanding versi non FL (kayak E200K, E240, E260, dsb), seperti perbaikan kualitas, penghilangan Sensotronic Brake Control yg punya umur pakai, dsb :D

edition9 released 2009 n satu yg masih sgt mulus punya pemilik ristra cosmetics, pasangan dokter retno iswari n dokter suharto tranggono

odometer skitar 2,500km n lbh sering disimpan dlm garasi di rumah di area kencana indah, pdk indah. ..sesekali pasangan manula itu pakai dgn supir ke pdk indah mall atau paling jauh ke grand indonesia

pernah sy ditawarkan tapi sy bilang mrk spy simpan sj drpd menyesal

mrk loyal customer benz, mulai dr w123 thn77 (hijau), thn 84 (putih), w124 (putih, 86), putih (88), silver (90), hitam (mastepiece 95) n yg edition9 ini mrk piara sampai skrg lbh sbg house pet drpd mobil...maklum eyang tranggono (tranggono tua bpknya s.tranggono) dulu usaha batik terbesar di purwokerto

W210 sih dari awal keluarnya (1995-1996) emang udah downgrade... :mky_03:

Kalo W211 sih diatas tahun 2007 (facelift) & W203 yg diatas 2007 juga (facelift) udah lebih baik & banyak dibenahin dari yang pre-FLnya... :D

Awal era downgrade habis2an (dan bahasa desain baru) mercy tuh dari produk -maaf- terkutuk 1 ini nih :

Dimulai dari Mercedes-Benz yang mulai kegerahan liat BMW 3-series laris manis tanpa tanpa saingan, mereka memutuskan untuk membuat pesaing berat 3-series... Yaitu sebuah W201 , atau yang biasa disebut 190 series... :mky_08:

W201 ini adalah asal mula dari C-klasse, sebelum akhirnya resmi menjadi C-klasse di W202...

Mobil ini didesain oleh Bruno Sacco, dan desainernya sendiri berpendapat bahwa karya yang paling dia suka diantara yang lainnya, adalah W201 ini... :mky_02:

W201 juga disebut 'massively over engineered', karena biaya untuk develop mobilnya sendiri habis sampai £600 juta di tahun itu... Sehingga mobil ini terkenal super solid as tank :mky_02:

Di Indonesia, 190E atau yg kerap disebut 'baby benz' ini harganya juga gelap, varian 190E 2.0 (varian yg paling banyak beredar) aja bisa 100jt an ke atas, lebih mahal dari W202 yang lebih muda...
Maklum lah menurut info2 yg ada, populasi total W201 di Indonesia cuma 85 units, dan terus berkurang seiring berjalannya waktu... :ungg:

Mobil ini mempunyai handling yang sangat sporty & mantab, berbeda aliran dengan kakaknya, E-klasse yang mengutamakan kenyamanan...

Varian2 yang langka seperti 2.3-16 & 2.5-16, serta Evolution I, dan Evolution II juga turut melengkapi 190E ini... Sekarang menjadi buruan kolektor, apalagi yang Evolution... Entah ada apa nggak di Indonesia :ungg:

190e evo II b-333-ks (kanu sianturi) UK spec... sy kenal baik bpk nya...serrano sianturi, msc.ph.d (m.i.t) ahli struktur bangunan tahan gempa lulusan mit yg lbh pilih dunia seni bersama istri nya maya tamara n operate perguruan ballet namarina. yg satu lagi dia pernah punya 1985 190e b70rs (rano sianturi). sy kenal alm kakek nya yg sering dulu sy panggil oom yun (junitin sianturi) yg puluhan tahun president director president taxi merangkap kepala dllajr jakarta jaman ali sadikin sampai jaman wiyogo dan juga nenek nya yg pensiunan inspektur utama imigrasi

mobil itu sdh sy liat sejak mrk masih tinggal di jalan cimahi hingga dijual th2004 di traded in dgn peugeot 307 diesel yg masih di pakai s.d skrg

oh these pics below are the grosser (1968) yg saat masih b-6758-ax di pakai alm mr.teuku oemar ali notaris top notch jkt yg sdh lama mati. rumahnya di patrajasa itu belakang belakangan dgn rumah almh rahmi hatta yg hadiah dari diktator suharto. mobil ini (swb) sdh bgt lama di pro-motor bertahun tahun. kasian ahliwaris nya bayar billing terus tapi mobil tdk pernah benar ataupun reliable

Habis cari artikel tentang 600 Grosser, ada 10 fact tentang mobil 1 ini :
Here, a deeper look at the 600’s special brand of genius. Enjoy.

1. It was purchased by a bunch of dictatorial sociopaths who didn’t mind killing other people. And Jack Nicholson.

Because for many years the 600 was the most luxurious and obnoxiously refined vehicle on the planet, the rich and famous swarmed to it. Most everyone knows this. Everyone knows, too, that der Grosser was a favorite of heads of state—the 600’s massive, imposing bodywork says nothing so much as I Am Coming to Rule Your Face, Peons, and I Will Drive Over Your Brain if You Don’t Agree.

What isn’t widely known is the extent of the car’s ownership roster. On a 2009 episode of the British television show Top Gear, co-host James May rattled off the following list of confirmed 600 owners: Leonid Brezhnev, Fidel Castro, Nicolae Ceauşescu, Idi Amin Dada, Enver Hoxha, Hirohito, Saddam Hussein, Mao Tse Tung, and Marshal Josip Broz Tito. Other owners reportedly included Irish leader Éamon de Valera, Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Korean dingbats Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il, Ferdinand Marcos, Deng Xiaoping, and Cambodian king Norodom Sihanouk. Time magazine says King Hussein of Jordan ordered one when new, as did Archbishop Makarios III of Cyprus and Indonesian president Suharto.

But wait! There’s more! Confirmed celebrity owners include Elvis Presley, George Harrison, John Lennon, Hugh Hefner, Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay (he bought Coco Chanel’s old car), and Jack Nicholson, who purchased his after driving it in The Witches of Eastwick. Harrison even bought Lennon’s old car when the latter moved to the United States from Britain, so he had two. Fancy, eh?

2. The 600’s legendary hydraulic system, which powers everything from the reclining rear seats to the sunroof, is remarkably complex and can be frighteningly durable if you don’t make a simple mistake and kill it.

The 600’s specially designed, engine-driven hydraulic system controls the windows, the front and rear power seats, the fresh-air ventilation system, door closure, trunk closure, the sunroof, and suspension damping. It runs on mineral oil and operates at a nominal 3200 psi. It was dreamed up as a way to provide the car with absolutely silent accessory operation, and it is, in a word, amazing.

Middelhauve on the system’s durability:

“The problem is, once you have a small leak in the system, you go to [an inexperienced] mechanic, he looks at it, it’s red fluid, so he pours in transmission fluid. But the oil in the 600’s system is mineral-based, not synthetic. If you consistently refill it with transmission fluid, it eats up the rubber seals. It takes about two years or so, and then the car is like a sieve. Fluid fills the doors and seeps out of the bottoms.

“The other thing is, the wrong fluid also affects pump performance. And when you have a wear factor in the pump pushing 3200 psi against a dead [suspension] air cylinder, the pressure can swing to twice that or more. That ultimately ruins the pump. The cylinder has a piston with nitrogen on one end at about 1000 psi, and if the gas cushion wears down, then the pump only will operate the car when it’s running. All this takes years, though. If you service the system right with the right fluid, it’s not that bad.”

No, of course not. Sounds simple enough, right?

There’s also this: “If a line breaks, the stream of hydraulic fluid can go right into your finger. It’s just like a knife.”

Good to know.

3. A window can take your arm off. The window switch, which makes it possible to take your arm off, costs $11,200.

The 600’s windows are operated by a variable-rate switch—essentially a pressure-sensitive valve body that lives in the door and routes fluid to the window regulators.

When lowering the window, this switch acts in a simple on-off fashion; push it, the window moves at one speed. When raising the window, however, the switch offers a variable rate—pressing it gently creeps the glass up, but nailing it slams the window shut fast enough to slice off a body part. You can hear it whunk into the door. It sounds like a cleaver pounding into a chopping block.

For some ungodly reason, this switch, which also operates all four windows from the driver’s side, currently retails for $11,200 from Mercedes-Benz. Fortunately, it can be repaired for a more reasonable price. The suspension-height switch—the cockpit valve that adjusts the 600’s ride height—goes for a more manageable $1400.

And you thought your old S-class hoopty was a money hole.

4. You can break the trunk hinges with your bare hands.

Like virtually everything else here, the 600’s trunk open/close mechanism is powered by 3200 psi of pressurized oil. Pull the lever beneath the lid, the trunk pops open. Push it—without touching the lid, natch—the trunk closes. Quickly. Attempt to push the lid closed with your hands and you can bend the trunk hinges.

Yes, that’s right: This car is so fancy you can break the trunk by trying to close it yourself. But really, who expects to close a lid with their hands, anyway? (“Rich people do not touch things, dahling. We have people and buttons for that.”)

5. Its designer, Paul Bracq, wasn’t a one-hit wonder.

Here we have a man with one hell of a résumé: In 1953, Paul Bracq, the 600’s designer, graduated from the École Boulle, the famous art and design school in Paris. In 1957, after a short stint in the military, he became chief of Mercedes-Benz’s advanced design studio in Sindelfingen. He’s credited with the 1960s “Pagoda” SL and the W108/109, W111, and W114/115 sedans. After leaving the company in 1967, he did consultant work and helped design France’s high-speed TGV passenger train.

It doesn’t stop there. Bracq was chief of BMW design from 1970 to 1974. He’s responsible for the shape and detail of the E12 5-series, the 2002 Turbo, the E21 3-series, the E24 6-series, and the E23 7-series. He also penned the two 1970s BMW Turbo concept cars, the functional design studies that presaged Munich’s M1 supercar. Shortly after leaving BMW, he landed at Peugeot, where he designed interiors for more than two decades. He now lives in France, where he devotes his time to his career as a world-renowned painter.

6. Its front suspension is shared with no other Mercedes model of the period.
The 600’s independent front suspension can be summed up in two words: ball joints. Where lesser Mercedes-Benzes used a service-intensive and wear-prone kingpin setup, the Grosser featured front uprights located by ball joints. This was a technically progressive move for the time—remember, the 600 came out in 1963—and from a company not known for rapid adoption of engineering advancements. No other Mercedes of the era was so equipped.

7. History has seen stiffer, heavier, and more ridiculous private limousines. But this one was built out of industrial-grade, bunker-busting German bluster. Fittingly, it’s all but indestructible.

Middelhauve on the 600’s construction: “Because of the mass and the construction of the car, the [600’s] plain chassis was stiffer than an entire [W112, 1961–1967] 300 sedan. You jack a wheel up at the front, the rear wheel goes off the ground, too. It’s so stiff, so stable. As for the rest, the steel that’s in there—I haven’t seen a 600 where the rockers are rusted through. It just doesn’t happen.”

Every piece of 600 trim, both interior and exterior, is handmade or hand-finished. Everything is custom-fit to each individual car—the brightwork, for example, was all produced, ground to fit, and then sent off to be plated.

Note: The 600’s three-pointed-star hood ornament is roughly 20 percent bigger than the hood ornament fitted to other Mercedes-Benzes of the same era. Same for the trunk badges. Blame the car’s massive scale, the importance of proportion in good design, and a bunch of absurdly [cencored]-retentive Germans. God bless ’em.

8. The twin-tone horn is loud enough to relaunch the Titanic.

Two horns. One rocker switch on the dash, just above the steering column. One side of the switch is blank; the other features a pictogram that looks like a flugelhorn or something.

Tap the switch one way, you get a normal car horn. Tap it the other way, you get the Queen Mary’s compressed-air monster hooter, a godlike bellow so loud it causes sidewalks to crumble and makes nearby squirrels explode.

Or, you know, you can do it next to a schoolyard on a sunny spring day in Los Angeles, like we did, and create a pack of cheering, screaming, jumping kids. Perfect.

9. The parking brake is magic. As is the cowl vent, the trunk-mounted hydraulic spares kit, and just about everything else.

The footwell-mounted parking brake releases automatically when you put the car into drive or reverse. If this doesn’t sound impressive, try that in your ’63 Chevy.
The cowl vent, a retractable, body-colored steel panel that sits in front of the windshield, is—surprise—hydraulically operated. It’s controlled by a switch on the dash: Open it, the panel silently drops into the cowl and fresh air comes gushing onto your feet. Close it, the air shuts off. (It’s open in the above photo.) You end up playing with the vent at stop lights just to watch it glide into place. Mesmerizing.

A vacuum system locks all four doors, while the hydraulic system helps draw them closed so you don’t have to slam them. There’s a three-way switch on the steering column that lets you vary pressure in the hydraulic-suspension dampers. The hydraulic spares kit in the trunk contains small brass spacers; they’re to be used to keep the power seats from collapsing if the hydraulic system fails. The kit also contains three hydraulic blocks, three line connections, a set of hydraulic line plugs and clips, four wood wedges to insert in the window channels to keep the windows up, a spare hydraulic flex line, an instruction booklet, and an oil container. Current cost to replace the kit: more than $3000.

10. You could have a 600 built however you wanted, and many people did.
From 1963 to 1981, Mercedes built a mere 2677 600s. Only 428 of these were the famous Pullman model, essentially a long-wheelbase sedan. Three hundred four were standard four-doors, 124 were six-door jump-seat models; of this total, 59 were Landaulets, with convertible tops over the rear passengers. Forty-one were armored. One was built with a high roof for the Vatican. One coupe was built as a prototype in 1965. All hail der Grosser—we’ll not see its like again.

"It's totally stupid, the laws of aerodynamics must be different between Munich and Stuttgart. If that rear wing works, we’ll have to redesign our windtunnel," he allegedly sniffed, having previously denied requests from his own engineers to develop a similar wing for the M3. 

Rumours said, bmw did. Redesigned their wind tunnel...

Hasil ngobrol ama (mantan) pedege 190e, kusus yg 16v cosworth (2.3 dan 2.5) ada skitar 30an unit. Harga udah pasti 250 up buat varian cosworth ini. Not bad buat ' sedan kompak 4 pintu jadul kotak2 jelek' hehehe..

W100 memang bukan yg plg puritan soal bespoke craftmanship. We have the brits to do that :mr_green:, tp soal technical achievement, imo, w100 adalah salah 1 yg plg massive yg pernah ada dlm sejarah otomotif, super kompleks dan beyond imagination bahkan utk ukuran jaman skarang.

Bold di atas, ini miura B 1 DD nya, sekedar mengkonfirmasi validitas dongeng bergizi om rubble di atas soal miura.

Oot: miura ini foto trakirnya sih lg diresto, foto bbrp taun lalu, mudahan skrg udah beres. Konon di tangan kakak beradik penggila european sport classic sejak dulu. Konon.

tempat nya ketitipan byk harta org. naiklah ke lantai dua u liat bbrp mulai dari armygreen 1973 tyt century (cadeau dr premier takeo fukuda n hirohito), w186 fourdoor hdtp habibie (ex alm moh subuh widjojo yg dulu pemilik s widjojo center), w186 atasnama djakarta lloyd (kalo tdk terlihat artinya parkir di satu corner house besar di lebakbulus II atau di bengkel boyolali bbrp steps dr situ agak masuk gang dikit (tanya mas bagyo, pemilik bengkel, smg dia masih idup), w126 stretch hitam (sering di dorong ke bengkel bawah...tanya alwi deh) yg atas nama denma paspampres,nsuka di pasang plaat b-1023-bh (pasti byk yg liat wkt satu diktator resigning n pergi dr istana, satu hari th1998)

habiskan wkt dua tiga jam disana n teman teman bisa dapatkan suasana spt wkt permorin (skrg resto dcost) shutdown tapi blm di bongkar. atau mainmain ke beberapa corner gedung patrajasa gatotsubroto n intip intip bbrp area tertutup disitu...

W100 otaknya ada di airsuspension. anyone did sumtin simply wrong on it might kill the entire car...permanently. sy sdh liat bgt byk (read: bgt byk, lebih dr 50) bangkai w100 di dalam n seputaran teheran meski sy heran bbrp (sy hitung dgn sepuluh jari masih lebih n lebih) w186 berkeliaran di sana umumnya kondisi half-zombie n pastinya bkn org kaya atau seperdelapan kaya dibelakang steer

mau liat w123 swb lwb masih pristine? jalanlah ke pyongyang. sy jamin bisa liat mrk yg umumnya dalam warna leafgreen. jgn surprise ya kalo liat mobil mobil seperti w201 disana tapi dgn frontgrille a'la tyt crown comfort (umumnya solid orange) itubukan 190e tapi either pyongyang4.10 (merah, military high ranked) or kaengsaeng88 (orange, midranked party members). gigi sy hampir patah n camera sy hancur di injak injak garagara mau ambil pic terlalu dekat n translator sy lg pergi sebentar antre ice cream. bbrp kaengsaeng88 di pasang 190e emblem, pakai oem frontgrille n resprayed in solid oceanblue (itu dipakai naval members)

Baca-baca sih, W100 Grosser itu otaknya di sistem hidraulik yang pake mineral oil, buat ngontrol segalanya mulai dari suspensi, vakum pintu, reclining jok, power window, dsb (kebayang dong betapa rumit & canggihnya sistem hidrolik tsb even buat jaman sekarang, dan kalo rusak hidrauliknya yaa, mobilnya jd lumpuh :mky_03: )
Nah, sistem hidrauliknya itu sebenernya kuat banget, tapi kalo ada kebocoran ato kerusakan dikiit aja di sistemnya...... Tinggal tunggu waktu buat bubar :mky_03:
Buat ngerapihin hidrolik tsb butuh dana banyak bgt (even sekali routine maintenance mobil ini aja, bisa dapet sedan compact brand new), contoh buat rapihin bagian power window hidrolik aja, butuh lebih dari US$10.000... :ungg:

di north korea sbgn besar mobil milik party members dgn posisi tertentu n tiap emblem mobil itu dianggap iklan. per emblem logo itu taxed at or around equivalent to usd 10 / month. per emblem alphabetic / numeric itu taxed plus minus usd 20 / month. tdk berlaku u diplomatic cars tapi mobil manapun yg pasang logo atau numeric / alphabetic emblems wajip kasih priority mobil yg tdk pasang itu smua saat antre isi petrol / diesel fuel ataupun antre naik ferry (disitu ga ada bengkel, mobil diplomatic rusak silakan crossborder masuk south atau option lain masuk chinese territory)
