Overwhelmed by traffic, Beijing turns to new car sales lottery
In 2009, China became the largest auto market on the planet, surpassing the United States. 2010 proved to be more of the same, as China cemented itself as the king of car sales. But while automakers are living the high life in China, the capitol city of Beijing is trying to slam the brakes on new vehicle sales.

The problem, according to a Christian Science Monitor report, is that traffic has become so bad in the densely populated metropolis that the government has banned car sales until an auto sale lottery takes place. That's right; if you're in Beijing and you'd like a new car or truck, you're going to have to put your name in a hat and hope for the best.

The first monthly lottery will take place on January 26. Each will give 20,000 prospective motorists authorization to actually buy a car. So far, a reported 100,000+ buyers have already entered the lottery. China will draw 240,000 names during the course of the year. Customers who sell their vehicle or lose it in an accident will be exempt from the lottery and they'll be able to keep their plate for a future vehicle purchase. The lottery is expected to help Beijing car sales in half this year, compared to the 850,000 units moved in 2010. To further free up the stifling rush hour traffic, the government has also banned cars with out-of -city plates from traveling on Beijing roads during peak travel times.

The lottery will doubtless slow the pace of car sales, but that won't do much to solve Beijing's traffic woes. Motorists and dealers alike tell The Christian Science Monitor that they hope the move to a lottery system will buy Beijing officials the time needed to improve the city's infrastructure and improve public transportation.

kalau sistem itu diaplikasikan disini, apa lotere nya bisa fair atau perlu kasih duit buat "improve" chance untuk menang alias langsung dapat? :capede:

Jelas gak bakal bisa di indo ini cuma bisa berjalan di negara maju atau yg menganut asas tangan besi atau demokrasi 'terpimpin' :mrgreen:

Gw aja kemaren ketinggalan pesawat garuda yg udah jelas fully booked sampe 2 hari kedepan bisa dpt ticket(buat 4 orang lg) caranya? Ground crewnya sendiri yg nawarin untuk beli antrian org2 yg udah ngantri buat standby :e-whistle: UUD lah

Jangan lupa bahwa Beijing punya jaringan MRT itu panjang-nya 200 Km dan di tahun 2015 targetnya akan mencapai 561 Km !!

The chairman of the Beijing metro construction administration corporation announced in August 2008 that two to four new Subway lines would be commenced by the end of the year, with work set to continue on the nine already under construction. Work on the Yizhuang Line (Line L2), which will extend 23km (14.3 miles) from the southern terminus of Line 5, began on 8 December 2007, with trial services due in 2010.

Beijing Subway should have 19 lines totalling 561km (349 miles) in operation by 2015, with an expected 9 million passenger journeys per day.

untuk sementara mending semua angkutan umum massal dioper ke jalur busway. Jalur2 biasa khusus mobil & motor.

MRT di jakarta? hehe kayaknya dulu gw pernah denger tp sampe hari ini cuma rencana doang tapi walaupun ada gw gak yakin bisa jalan secara optimal orang indo bikin apapun bisa tapi tidak pernah bisa maintain apa yang sudah dibikin contohnya liat aja busway dulu gw liat waktu baru buka haltenya bersih malah gw sempet iseng pake dari ratuplaza ke kota dan cukup bagus waktu itu kemaren gw liat lagi udah gak keurus baik halte dan busnya. Volume penumpang keliatannya naik tapi jumlah busnya/kapasitasnya gak sebanding bertambahnya jadi keliatannya sumpek, selama rakyatnya(semua lapisan) gak punya disiplin dan spirit untuk merasa memiliki fasilitas umum yang sudah dibuat percuma mau dibikinin apa pun hasilnya bakal amburadul.

kalau menurut gw sih daripada repot2 bikin MRT mending implement yg gampang dulu aja deh banyakin deh tuh gardu tol otomatis gw liat cuma ada di beberapa tempat doang coba di implementasikan GTO plus ETC(electronic toll collection) dan gardu manualnya dibuang semua.
Ini cuma logika simple GTO kartu atau dengan ETC pasti lebih cepat daripada manusia yang harus ambil duit dan hitung kembalian gw berani taruhan pegawai gardu tol yg paling cepat gak bakal lebih cepat dari transaksi GTO, aneh liatnya pengelola tol di indo alergi banget sama teknologi malah atau yg dipake teknologi idiot seperti contohnya di JORR barat kalau bayar ada audio yg menyebutkan harga ticketnya WTF? gw sampe ketawa waktu denger pertama kali ngapain pake teknologi kayak gitu? apa value addednya?

Konon th 2016 akan beroperasi jalur Lebak Bulus - Dukuh Atas

Gimana progress-nya sih yah susah ditebak, moga2 aja berjalan sesuai rencana en jalur-nya ditambah.

Menambah ruas jalan / memperlebar jalan / menambah jalan Tol, lancarnya hanya bersifat temporer, krn jumlah kendaraan akan terus bertambah.

Dengan resiko apapun yg akan dihadapi, Transportasi Massal sistem rangkaian gerbong dgn rel / jalur khusus adalah solusi mobilitas paling efektif bagi kota2 besar dgn penduduk padat, karena daya angkut yg sangat besar.

Negara2 spt India (Delhi / Mumbai / Bangalore), Brasil (Rio / Brasilia) semua memiliki MRT, bahkan Vietnam juga akan membangun MRT di Ho Chi Minh yang rencananya akan beroperasi di 2016 juga (Proyek MRT Jkt balapan dgn MRT HCM)

MRT di New York konon juga penuh corat coret oleh gang gang di sana, tapi tetap menjadi andalan mobilitas bagi penduduk.

setuju MRT memang paling cocok buat kota2 besar kalau cuma masalah corat coret itu no big deal tapi jangan sampai gak di maintain atau maintenancenya setengah2 ntar udah bangun mahal2 tapi percuma malah cuma jadi proyek lagi aja.

Sistem MRT yg gw pake sekarang secara rutin di DC dan Munich tidak sebersih punya SIN tapi at least ada maintenance rutin sehingga gerbong2 yang tua seperti yg di Munich masih layak dipakai

ide gw mengenai GTO dan ETC bukan solusi buat masalah kemacetan jangka panjang di jakarta tapi cara yang lebih murah dan cepat sambil menunggu MRT yang gak jelas kelarnya kapan

benar.

sekarang misalnya angkot suka main ngatem sembarangan dan supir2nya nyetir bus gede dikirain nyetir Ferrari, lalu doyan main potong sana sini; bisa motong jalur dari yg paling kiri ke yg paling kanan lalu tiba2 pindah ke kiri lagi. Itu juga yg jadi biang keladi kemacetan utama. Belum mobil2 yg sudah capek2 dicuci bersih dikentutin asap knalpot hitam kelam dari angkot. Saya masih mending bawa mobil, lah yg bawa motor dikentutin gitu? Apa gak bahaya? Mungkin yg selama ini naik angkot ga berasa betapa menyebalkan dan membahayakannya para angkot2 ini bagi pengguna jalan yg lain2.

lalu kalau soal keterbatasan gardu otomatis di jalan tol, pasti ada main2 duit dan politiknya lahh. Kalau sistem gardu otomatis akan meminimaliskan atau bahkan mengeliminasi chance untuk "bagi2 jatah" dengan sistem sekarang, aparat2 sini mana mau?

kebayang deh kalu kantor2 kementrian dipindah semua ke ibukota yang baru, pasti populasi lalin jakarta berkurang banyak. :big_peace:
