nurut gue:

front design: BMW 3 (front design IS 250 terlalu "soft")
back design: IS 250 (BMW 3 sebenarnya bagus juga tapi back lampnya terlalu konvensional, kurang sportif kayak IS 250)
interior: BMW 3 (karena udah dilengkapi i-drive)
engine: BMW 3 (lebih responsif dan garang)
performance dan handling: sama mantapnya (BMW lebih sporty, IS 250 lebih tenang)
Realibility: sama bagusnya.

Pilihan gue: BMW 3

I will go for Lexus IS.
BMW might be good looking and responsive, but Lexus brand is known for their quality.

Wow, bung Herry, coming from a Lexus fan like you, it sure is a blow to them

I agree with your points with the exception of the interior : the 3's interior looks cheap and the assymetrical lines are messy, not to mention the ugly steering wheel.
And the i-Drive is optional. Check out the pic below, without the screen, the dash looks so plain.

Mr. JapanInsight, long time 'no see'.
Lexus is launching in Japan this year, I guess this means no more Toyota Altezza, just Lexus IS. Have they put ads about this launching?

Mr. Conan, kalo u kasih liat pic interior BMW 3 spt yg terakhir itu jelas gue pasti bil interior IS 250 better than BMW 3, apalagi kalo i-drivenya juga optional. Salah satu yg paling menarik dari interior BMW itu kan i-drive nya.

Gue emang demen lexus, tapi jujur aja, dibanding yg model yg lama IS baru tidak banyak perubahan yg attractive, malah kalo gue bil design IS 250 kali ini terlalu lembut shg menghilangkan karakter sport nya. Yg gue puji justru perubahan interiornya yg cukup mencolok. Btw sound systemnya apa pakai ML punya? kayak type Lexus Sc punya?

Agree, Mr. Herry. IS lama kesannya lebih agressive, ya. Tapi interior new IS ini sangat berkelas. Grr, why can't we have them both at the same time?

Aku dengar semua Lexus akan menggunakan Mark Levinson, I'd look for a confirmation about that

Wah kalo pake sound system ML itu tambah point gede deh buat IS 250. Untuk IS 250 ini sangat disayangkan kesan sporty udah luntur. Maybe IS 250 kudu dimasukkan ke workshop dulu biar tampil lebih garang.
Before IS = It's Sport car, Now IS = It's Soft car hehehe...

Gw pilih BMW seri 3. Faktor lainnya lebih unggul dari Lexus IS kecuali bagian belakangnya yang kurang oke. Kemudian, di sini BMW lebih gengsi dan lebih banyak peminatnya. Jadi secara keseluruhan BMW seri 3 baru tetap lebih unggul.

I prefer BMW, but Lexus is really in the game now imo. Lexus IS generasi baru ini lebih mendekati luxury sport sedan dari generasi sebelumnya yang tidak bernuansa sport meski memiliki chassis yang baik.

Untuk quality n exterior sih milih Lexus IS deh... Cakep banget n finishingnya bagus banget... Klo performance or pengendaraan, tunduk d Lexus ma BMW, tapi untuk yang kelas 3000CC saya milih Lexus IS dibanding 3-series... Wartawan coba di cipularang 330i, katanya mentul2 terus sepanjang cipularang, kaya naek batu... Gak kuat d klo itu... Mending naek katana x... hehehe
