Honda CEO takes responsibility for poor reception of redesigned Civic
There are plenty of ways to know an automaker has made a misstep. Diminished sales and high inventory are typical markers of a lackluster model, as is a paucity of critical acclaim. All three factors are currently weighting on the 2012 Honda Civic. And while stopping short of an actual apology, Honda CEO Takanobu Ito has reportedly stepped in to take responsibility for the model's reception. At a Tokyo Motor Show roundtable, Ito told media members that he takes full responsibility for the vehicle's meager performance in the United States and remarked that Honda takes input from world markets very seriously. The CEO also said that his company is working to discern the best course of action moving forward, acknowledging talk of an earlier-than-normal refresh to address the car's criticisms.
The redesigned Honda Civic hasn't found many fans since it debuted in April. Consumer Reports refused to recommend the vehicle for the first time in the car's history, and Dan Neil of The Wall Street Journal said that the new car "feels like a betrayal from Honda."
Ouch.
Not surprisingly, Automotive News reports that Civic sales have dropped by 15 percent while the rest of the automotive market has seen an increase of 10 percent compared to last year. While some of that fall may be due to supply issues brought about first by earthquake and tsunami activity in Japan and later by floods in Thailand, the reality is that the bread-and-butter compact simply isn't meeting expectations.
bagus deh CEO honda udah sadar kalau civic dan produk lainnya harus di re evaluasi, bikin lah civic lebih exciting designnya, betulin moncong accura, bring out the nxs, s2000 replacement dan please kill the damn cross tour, that car is simple FUGLY
kalo lama2 diliat sih gak jelek banget grill tamengnya acura, terutama yg model TSX manis juga. Paling jelek grill tameng kayaknya di model TL
Acura ZDX aja ane mulai suka liat tampang keseluruhannya hehehe.....
Kalo crosstour emang kurang estetikanya, juga new civic (terutama yg USDM) modelnya terlalu sederhana.
Yg sangat disayangkan sebenernya dulu Honda = engine technology leader...skrg...keok gak jelas. Kaya malas berinovasi. Menurut ane CEO nya mesti ganti.
Gue menilai desain beberapa model populer Honda lebih mengakomodir selera cewe. Keliatan dari design Jazz, CRV2011, Freed atau Civic - yang banci.
Fitur sama teknologi mesinnya juga cuma itu-itu ada. Padahal Honda punya mesin diesel canggih i-CTDi yang pernah mendapatkan penghargaan internasional untuk inovasi engine. Untuk mesin listrik dan hybrid pun kalah sama Toyota, Nissan or Mitsubishi....
Karena loyalitas pemakai saja Honda masih bisa bertahan. Tapi di Indonesia pun, udah kena salip sama Nissan

In a roundtable with reporters at an event related to the Tokyo Motor Show, Tetsuo Iwamura, President and CEO of American Honda, told us that he's been surprised by the Crosstour crossover's slow sales:
"In the case of the Crosstour, I'm really disappointed because that's a nice car, [with] very beautiful styling, and it gives very good driving performance as well as packaging. But yet, we went a bit too far."
The five-door CUV has been struggling since it went on sale as a 2010 model. Through November, Honda has sold just 16,679 units this year - down nearly 36 percent from the 25,927 units tallied by this point in 2010. Honda had initially projected annual sales of 40,000 units.

Maafkan saya, tapi desain mobil Honda dari dulu ndak pernah ada yang sesuai selera saya.
Tapi dulu aja masih lumayan, walau ndak cocok selera saya, masih ada bagus2nyalah.
Lha yang sekarang ini???
