Could it be? Return of the slippery RX-7
Mazda planners are still in heavy discussion regarding the return of the sporty RX-7, but sources tell us if it is resurrected, the fourth generation RX-7 will arrive as a two-door, two-seat version of the new RX-8.
Shown here are artist renderings of the RX-7 Cabrio. But don't place your orders yet -- we don't believe this sporty two-seater will arrive before late in the 2006 model year, or possibly as a 2007 model.

Btw Chalupa, it's a Brenda and Co's chop of the next Miata, not the RX-7. Notice that it's a roadster and not a coupe 
About a new RX-7, it's said that Mazda engineers are secretly 'toying' with the concept as it's not an official company project, but very small chance it will be given the green light into production as the Mazda factory producing the rotary engine is already running non-stop, and yet they can barely keep up with the RX-8's demand. It seems like the next chapter in Mazda's rotary engined RX series would be an RX-9..
