About......
The Ford Fiesta is a supermini car manufactured by the Ford Motor Company since 1976, now in its sixth generation. The Fiesta has been manufactured in Europe, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, China, India, Taiwan, Thailand, and South Africa.

In 2010, the sixth generation Fiesta (Mark VI)[1] was introduced worldwide, making it the first Fiesta model to be sold in North America since the Fiesta Mark I was discontinued at the end of 1980.

The Fiesta has sold over 16 million units since 1976,[2][3][4] making it one of the best selling Ford marques behind the Escort and the F-series.

The Fiesta was originally developed under the project name "Bobcat" (not to be confused with the subsequent rebadged Mercury variant of the Ford Pinto) and approved for development by Henry Ford II in September 1972. Development targets indicated a production cost US$100 less than the current Escort.[1] The car was to have a wheelbase longer than that of the Fiat 127, but with overall length shorter than that of Ford's Escort. The final proposal was developed by Tom Tjaarda at Ghia. The project was approved for production in autumn 1973, with Ford's engineering centres in Cologne and Dunton (Essex) collaborating.

Ford estimated that 500,000 Fiestas a year would be produced, and built an all-new factory near Valencia, Spain; a trans-axle factory near Bordeaux, France; factory extensions for the assembly plants in Dagenham, UK. Final assembly also took place in Valencia.[5]

The name Fiesta belonged to General Motors when the car was designed; however, it was freely given for Ford to use on their new B-class car. After years of speculation by the motoring press about Ford's new car, it was subject to a succession of carefully crafted press leaks from the end of 1975. A Fiesta was on display at the Le Mans 24 Hour Race in June 1976, and the car went on sale in France and Germany in September 1976; to the frustration of UK dealerships, right hand drive versions only began to appear in the UK in January 1977.
First generation (1976–1983)

Mechanically, the Ford Fiesta followed tradition, with an end-on four-speed Manual transmission of the Ford BC-Series mounted to a new version of the Ford Kent OHV engine, dubbed "Valencia" after the brand new Spanish factory in Almussafes, Valencia, developed especially to produce the new car. Ford's plants in Dagenham, England, and Saarlouis and Cologne (from 1979) in Germany, also manufactured Fiestas. To cut costs and speed up the research and development, the new powertrain package destined for the Fiesta was tested in Fiat 127 development "mules" – at the time considered the benchmark car in the class, with which the Fiesta shares styling similarities. This also allowed covert road testing across Europe.

Although not the first Ford vehicle to feature front-wheel drive (the 1960s Taunus produced by Ford of Germany laid claim to that title), the Fiesta is widely credited as being Ford's first globally successful front-wheel-drive model. UK sales began in January 1977, where it was available from £1,856 for the basic 950 cc-engined model.[7]

It was only the second hatchback mini-car to have been built in the UK at this stage, being launched a year after the Vauxhall Chevette, but a year before the Chrysler Sunbeam and four years before the Austin Metro. The millionth Fiesta was produced on 9 January 1979.


MKI rear
The car was initially available in Europe with the Valencia 957 cc (58.4 cu in) I4 (high compression and low compression options), and 1,117 cc (68.2 cu in) engines and in Base, Popular, L, GL (1978 onward), Ghia and S trim, as well as a van. The U.S. Mark I Fiesta was built in Cologne, Germany but to slightly different specifications; U.S. models were Base, Decor, Sport, and Ghia, the Ghia having the highest level of trim.[8] These trim levels changed very little in the Fiesta's three-year run in the USA, from 1978 to 1980. All U.S. models featured the more powerful 1,596 cc (97.4 cu in) engine, (which was the older "Crossflow" version of the Kent, rather than the Valencia) fitted with a catalytic converter and air pump to satisfy strict Californian emission regulations), energy-absorbing bumpers, side-marker lamps, round sealed-beam headlamps, improved crash dynamics and fuel system integrity as well as optional air conditioning (a/c was not available in Europe). In the U.S. market, the Ford Escort replaced both the Fiesta and the compact Pinto in 1981.

At the beginning of the British government's Motability scheme for disabled motorists in 1978, the Fiesta was one of the key cars to be available on the scheme.[9]

The Mark 1 Fiesta won the 1978 Design Council Award.

A sporting derivative (1.3 L Supersport) was offered in Europe for the 1980 model year, using the 1.3 L (79 cu in) Kent Crossflow engine, effectively to test the market for the similar XR2 introduced a year later, which featured a 1.6 L version of the same engine. Black plastic trim was added to the exterior and interior. The small square headlights were replaced with larger circular ones resulting in the front indicators being moved into the bumper to accommodate the change. With a quoted performance of 0–60 mph (0–97 km/h) in 9.3 seconds and 105 mph (169 km/h) top speed, the XR2 hot hatch became a cult car beloved of boy racers throughout the 1980s.


MKI
For the 1979 auto show season, Ford in conjunction with its Ghia Operations in Turin, Italy, produced the Ford Fiesta Tuareg off-road car. It was touted in press materials as "a concept vehicle designed and equipped for practical, off-road recreational use."[10]

Minor revisions appeared across the range in late 1981, with larger bumpers to meet crash worthiness regulations and other small improvements in a bid to maintain showroom appeal ahead of the forthcoming second generation.

In 1978, the Fiesta overtook the Vauxhall Chevette as Britain's best-selling supermini, but in 1981 it was knocked off the top spot by British Leyland's Austin Metro and was still in second place at the end of 1982.

Pas pertama nyetir mobil kutu ini, rasa rally langsung terasa dari raungan mesin DuraTORQ (CMIIW) 1.4 . Ngebut di tol Bawen - Semarang itu pernah ampe 180 km/h.
Nilai = 9/10

Ok lah cukup irit 14 km/l

Ini sama nih Fiesta MK7 2011 1.4 M/T .. dari baru smp sekarang masih setia menemani tiap hari, meskipun ada Honda Civic, Toyota Yaris, Nissan GL .. tp gw lebih nyaman pakai si Black

+ Handling top notch di banding hatchback sekelas, apalagi kalo sudah full stability kit .. tikungan tapal kuda 100kph masih nurut aja bodynya.

+ Feature berlimpah (udah pada tau deh ya ga usah disebut)
+ Tampang cakep (subjective) dan di touch dikit udah galak

+ Build quality melebihi japs hatch,.. terutama soal peredaman dan material interior, love the semi bucket. Plafon di ketok padet ga bunyi kaleng, d.trim dibuka padet kaga melompong.

+ Soal kenceng, meskipun cuma 1.4L 95hp mesin std (cuma pakai remus muffler) .. ga gampang untuk di kentutin jazz 120 HP :mky_02:

+ FC rata2 dalkot 1:9-10 .. tp kalo sudah ketemu tol irit dah, best FC test tol bebas hambatan eco-drive bisa 1:21, mesinnya bukan buat macet tp buat jalan kenceng baru irit ... jangan sering2 di gigi 1-2 boros dah .. musti pinter atur gear main di 3-5 dan rpm.


CONS:
- Cabin size: kalah sama jazz dan yaris soal maksimalisasi cabin space, tp buat gw yg sering setir sendiri ga terlalu masalah
- FC Idle, stop & go gear 1-2, dan macet2an .. BOROS!!!
- Harga jual lumayan banyak depresiasinya, tp mo dikata apa skrg japs car juga gila .. yaris S limited 2012 (rp. 221jt) jual 2014 blm 2th cuma laku 150jt!!

Conclusion: I LOVE IT, gw Happy punya si Black.
Chemistry-nya saat pertama kali punya juga beda dg mobil yg lain :big_blushing:

Claim s.part ke Ford mulus2 aja tanpa ngotot (mungkin HOKI gw kali ya, entah kalo yg lain pengalamannya berbeda)
- claim Steering rack : ganti 2x, sejak 1000KM smp skrg nyaman ga ada keluhan, TUNTAS.
- claim lampu headlamp berembun: ganti baru, padahal ga ada maksud minta ganti .. cuma bilang "lampu saya berembun".
- claim Intermediate shaft: ganti 1x, belum ada keluhan lagi.
- menutup usia warranty 3th, claim bunyi metal beradu saat nyalakan a/c: ganti kompressor a/c (padahal rasanya bukan dari kompresor a/c :mrgreen: ), ganti waterpump pully, free drive blet krn saat pengecekan claim jadi gompal, free air coolant krn berkurang saat ganti water pump pully >> smp skrg sudah OK belum ada bunyi lagi.

Selama 3th jalan 21K: cuma ganti aki 1x, busi ganti NGK Iridium ITV16 krn itu iseng sendiri, ganti air filter pakai Ferrox (stdnya juga no prob harusnya), Ganti velg 3x krn doyan dan laper mata :mky_01:

Itulah ripiu....makanya saya yg sekelas nubie sejati ini belom brani meripiu sebuah mobil, bahkan mobil punya sendiri... :big_childish:
Kalo fiesta nya om juragan KF sih...emang cakep abiss..plus stabilizer kit lagi..mantaaapzz. :big_exellent:
Ya, untuk harga bekasnya, bukan cuma mobil2 eropa saja yg ambruk, taun2 terakhir ini, jap's pun ikut turun banyak..salah satu faktornya gara2 ulah LCGC. :big_slap:

Mobil yg lain .. GL udah pernah dulu banget di review, tp sejak ada fiesta males pakai GL lagi meskipun dulu rasanya surga naik GL .. :big_peace:
Tapi kalo buat jalan jauh keluar kota, pakai GL sih .. he he he... tp rasanya mo lembiru jadi SUV :big_slap:

Ane sedikit heran aja, knapa boil asal amrik kok cabin nya kecil ? Kan orangnya gede gede gitu... Kok malahan kalah sama jepun yg orangnya kecil kecil ? Knapa ya?.....

Ini mah ford europe yg bikin, kyk focus/mondeo/dsb :mky_01:

Mobil ini cabinnya gede kok, tapi di depan, nggak di belakang yg sempit... :D
